  • Nord University is a member of the international university network «Students at Risk» promoting academic freedom and human rights of students. 

    The purpose of the this scheme is to give student activists from developing countries who are denied access to educational institutions in their home country because of their activism, an opportunity to complete their education in Norway.

    Students are encouraged to return to their home country after completing a degree. The scheme is financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and administered by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.

  • The unit

    • is an administrative unit within the Department of Education
    • provides administrative support related to exchange
    • provides advice to incoming students on admission to Nord University
    • ​provides advice to outgoing students on exchange opportunities abroad
    • provides administrative support in cases related to internationalisation of education
    • develops advice and counselling in collaboration with the faculties. The faculties give advice on how student exchange may be adapted into the education plans.

    Tasks

    • Internal admission processes, external admission processes to host institutions, information about exchange agreements
    • Information about grants, coordination of reception of new international students, contact with public authorities and international collaborative institutions
    • Administration of agreements as well as European and global student and staff mobility programmes

    Internationalisation

    The unit maintains national and international relations on behalf of the university. The unit is represented in the International Committee (secretary) and the Education Committee (observer).
