The course offers further training in animation and vector and raster graphic software, learning advanced production techniques within motion design.
In this intermediate course, students will learn advanced production techniques within motion design. The course offers further training in animation and vector and raster graphic software, and the workflow between them. The course also focuses on design and production quality as well as creativity. Based on this, the students will plan and produce motion design pieces with production quality illustrations/assets, appropriate effects, sound/music and advanced motion applied.Finally, the animations are presented as a rendered sequence.

On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

Knowledge

  • Develop motion design pieces from an idea, brief or pitch.
  • Create a storyboard & animatic for a production
  • Adhere to an appropriate digital workflow to stay efficient and organised.

Skills

  • Utilise a graph editor
  • Manipulate curves to alter animation.
  • Use a proper file-structure and adhere to naming conventions
  • Adopt a digital workflow for compatibility between different software
  • Illustrate creative use of effects and tools
  • Collaborate with others to give/receive feedback
  • Work across different software and platforms
  • Render and output a sequence from the software
  • Create graphical elements in a vector-based software.
  • Animate graphical elements to create visually interesting content
