Economical Sociology, Social Politics, Pshychology and Law

ECO1006
The course sheds light on sociological concepts that frame poverty, the concept of money, interaction around money and understanding of payment difficulties. Social policy contributes with perspectives on the place of counseling in the support system. The psychological angle provides insight into how money concepts and money management are developed and managed in and by the individual. Psychology also contributes knowledge about the structure of counseling work. Law provides knowledge about receivables and debt collection, the creditor and debtor's rights and obligations and frames advice as an aid measure.
The course is offered in the study program Further education in Economic Counseling. The course can also be taken as a single course for students who are not admitted to the program.
General study competence or non-formal competence according to current regulations.

The candidate must have:

  • Broad knowledge of how financial problems and debt problems arise
  • Broad knowledge of relevant laws regarding personal finance and financial advice
  • Know legal method
  • Know the policies and institutions that affect debt development and personal finances.

Skills

Candidates:

  • Can meet people in stressful situations and contribute to fruitful dialogue
  • Can establish and maintain dialogue between creditors and debtors.
  • Can produce representations of case matters and conduct correspondence with creditors, partners and users.

General competence

Candidates:

  • has insight into relevant professional and ethical issues regarding financial advice.
  • can analyze and plan measures around users' debt and payment problems in line with professional requirements and ethical standards.
  • Can convey professional and legal aspects of importance to different case complexes, and share and discuss experiences with other professionals in the same and adjacent fields.
  • can understand and reflect critically on financial advice as a service in relation to the needs of users and the rights enshrined in legislation.
No cost exept for tuition and syllabus expenditure.
Mandatory
The teaching alternates between lectures, seminars, group work and teacher guidance.
The study program is evaluated annually by the students through course examinations (mid-term evaluation and final evaluation). These evaluations are included as part of the university's quality assurance system.

Compulsory participation is assessed hour by hour.

Take-home exam counts for 100% of the grade.
