Kinesiology and Anatomy

To make sporting progress during training, one must know the structure and function of the muscular and skeletal system. To understand the development of movement and technique in sports, it is essential to know how physical laws, mechanics, muscles and joints work together to develop power. The course focuses on developing the student's ability to understand what is an effective technique and what organic and mechanical conditions underlie this.

The student must be admitted to one of the following programmes of study to complete the course:

One-year programme in sports

Required prerequisite knowledge: Higher Education Entrance Qualification

Knowledge:

  • Broad knowledge of concepts and terminology in anatomy and kinesiology
  • Broad knowledge of basic anatomy related to skill development in sport and movement analysis
  • Broad knowledge of central mechanical laws and mechanical principles that affect movement solutions in sports

Skills:

  • Can analyze various movements in sports based on anatomy and movement theory.
  • Can apply anatomy and movement theory in the communication of skill development

General competence:

  • Professional knowledge in anatomy and movement theory to develop technical skills
  • Professional knowledge in anatomy and movement theory to set up appropriate training programs for strength development
In addition to the semester fee and course literature, it is assumed that students provide their own laptop computer.

Organisation of teaching activities: 

The course will consist of 100% digital lectures with assignments and tests linked to these.

The programme of study is annually evaluated by the students through course evaluations and study programme evaluation. The evaluations are part of the university's quality assurance system.

Coursework (AK):  

Submission of

  • 2 academic texts  

Coursework must be approved to get a final grade of the course

Exam: Written 5-hours schoolexam. Graded grading scale: A-F (comprises 100/100 of the grade in the course).
