Bachelor's Thesis

IDR2016
The bachelor's thesis is a scientific work where the student will carry out a complete research and development project. Based on theory, the student shall develop research question(s), conduct data collection using appropriate methods to address the research question, analyze and present results, and discuss their findings in relation to existing theory in the field. The bachelor's thesis should be written as a scientific report or article.

The student must be enrolled in the following study programs to complete the course:

  • Bachelor in Sports Science
  • Bachelor specialization in Meråker

The students must meet the applicable admission requirements for the respective study programs.

Completed courses totalling a minimum of 70 credits related to the subject (Sports science) area must be passed before the bachelor's thesis can be submitted.

KNOWLEDGE

The student:

  • Has broad knowledge and insight into development and research work within sports science.

SKILLS

The student:

  • Can carry out a scientific project including developing a research question, planning, data collection, and presentation (both oral and written).
  • Can apply either literature reviews, practical-pedagogical approaches, experimental studies, or surveys to address a research question within sports.

GENERAL COMPETENCE

The student:

  • Can apply knowledge to carry out research and development work.
In addition to the semester fee and required reading materials, the student is expected to have access to a laptop.

Student-directed activity and supervision
The study program is evaluated annually by the students through course evaluations and program evaluations. The evaluations are part of the university's quality assurance system.
Assignment (bachelor's thesis): Grade scale: A-F, counts 100/100 of the final grade in the course.
Generating responses using ChatGPT or similar artificial intelligence and submitting them wholly or partially as one's own work is considered cheating.

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
