Programme description

This semester package is designed for exchange students who wants to learn more about Norway. The programme consists of three courses of 10 ECTS (studiepoeng) each, at introductory level, and provides an overview of Northern Norway's history, Norway's most vital political institutions and their function with regard to the principles of a welfare state, as well as an introduction to the Norwegian language.

After completing their studies, students should have knowledge of

  • Basic competence in Norwegian language, oral and written
  • Have knowledge of the Norwegian political system, locally as well as centrally.
  • Get to know North Norwegian history

After completing their studies, the students should have the skills

  • Basic competence in Norwegian language, oral and written
  • Being able to analyze political processes
  • Being able to participate in political decision-making
  • To be able to critically analyze key topics in the history of Northern Norway

After completing their studies, students will have general competence

  • They should be able to use the Norwegian language for simple conversations and simple written communication
  • be able to present problem-oriented causal explanations, apply analysis and carry out reflected assessments.
  • Have insight into historical conditions and questions related to northern perspectives in Nosk history for different periods
No special costs except semester registration fee and syllabus literature.
