Bio-Business
See study programmeThe courses cover a wide range of topics, including bioproduction, circular bioeconomy, and business strategies. Students will gain insights into sustainability and the interconnectedness of economics, nature, and culture. Additionally, they will learn about essential aspects such as business strategy and digital marketing. Cutting-edge technologies will be introduced and used to utilize renewable resources for the production of food, raw materials for feed and biofuels.
The semester package consists of the following courses:
BIO1006 Bioproduction and Technology
BIO2000 Bioeconomy, Circular Economy and Society
MAF2005 Digital Marketing and Customer Value
ORG2001 International Business Strategy
KNOWLEDGE
The student has knowledge about:
- biological resources, processes and technological possibilities
- the relationship between nature, society and economics
- business strategic theories, management and analysis
- theories, processes, tools and methods within digital marketing and customer value
SKILLS
The student can:
- outline various processes in bioprocessing and biorefining
- use knowledge about sustainability and transdisciplinarity to make reasoned choices on practical and theoretical issues at the intersection points between disciplines
- understand and do elementary strategic analysis
- apply professional knowledge and relevant results from research and development work to practical and theoretical issues about digital marketing and digital value in business contexts
GENERAL COMPETENCE
The student can:
- assess the processes and technologies that are relevant for processing various bio-raw materials
- communicate combined information from different disciplines
- demonstrate insight into the area of business strategy and relevant ethical issues
- plan and carry out varied tasks and projects that extend over time, alone and as a participant in a group, and in line with ethical requirements and guidelines within digital marketing
Higher Education Entrance Qualification (international students refer to NOKUTs GSU list).
Language requirement
The semester package credits 30 ETCS and can generally be acknowledged as one semester of undergraduate education at universities.
Citizens of the EU/EEA/EFTA are exempt from tuition fees.
