The one year program will provide an introduction to economics and administration, and consists of five individual courses that are taught over 2 years. The topics are marketing / strategy, organization and management with courses business administration and accounting.

Knowledge
The candidate
• has broad knowledge of organizing and leading organizations, identifying a business’s market challenges and possible solutions to these.
• should be familiar with organizational theories and theories of marketing management including history and recent research in the field
• should be able to orient themselves in professional literature in order to keep up to date on issues related to challenges in and management of organizations, including globalization, global responsibility, sustainability and business social responsibility
• have knowledge of the characteristics and value creation of Norwegian small and medium-sized enterprises.

Skills
The candidate
• can apply professional knowledge and relevant results from research on practical and theoretical issues within an organization
• can reflect on their own decisions on a problem and be able to discuss, and possibly adjust this in a professional discussion with others
• can find, evaluate and refer to information and professional material on challenges in both public and private organizations
• can apply theoretical models to understand issues in different organizations
• can use the central economic concepts when communicating economic-related issues in businesses in particular and in society in general
• be able to familiarize themselves with labor law issues, and to discuss and answer legal issues within individual labor law based on legal methods

General competence
The candidate
• has insight into relevant professional and ethical issues in an organization and how these can be handled in a sensible way
• can carry out an independent work alone and in a group and in line with ethical guidelines in working life
• can communicate central professional material related to management and organizational issues
• can exchange views with people in different industries and participate in discussions on development and good use of theoretical knowledge
• is familiar with innovation and innovation processes in the private and public sector, both nationally and internationally

Higher Education Entrance Qualification (international students refer to NOKUTs GSU list).

Language requirement

A one year program in business administration qualify for various positions in private and public sector. Knowledge of economics and management will make any candidate more attractive in the workplace.
Not relevant for this programme.
No special costs except semester registration fee and syllabus literature. Costs associated with travel and accommodation may apply.
The candidates knowledge of all subjects will be evaluated. Various evaluation methods are customized to each subject. Home exams, papers / projects, case studies and other oral and written presentations are used in addition to the final written or oral exams. HHB uses standard letter grades.
The study programme is evaluated annually by students using course evaluation studies and by the programme director. The evaluations are included in the university's quality assurance system
