The job market today does not just involve the number of jobs available; it also concerns the quality of jobs. In times of rapid change in both the private and public sectors, developing jobs presents major challenges. Personnel policy can therefore prove crucial for the maintenance of jobs and opportunities in order to retain the skilled and educated workforce.
The purpose of this study program is to give students a basic understanding and knowledge of personnel management and human resource development in a work place in constant change.

Students should on successful completion of the study programme be able to:
  • understand and evaluate the different theoretical perspectives relevant for the organization and management field of study
  • demonstrate knowledge of personnel management in both private and public sectors
  • demonstrate knowledge of and gain insight into labour legislation, methods and practical usage
  • Demonstrate knowledge about in what situations to use different ways of communication

If relevant, specialization defined by the programme:

Admission occurs based on general study competence.

Qualification for positions in human resources management and organizational work in the public and private sectors.
The programme is suitable as part of several degree programmes. The Human Resource Management, the one year programme, can also be included as part of a student portfolio, specializing in management and personnel management at bachelor level or as an independent one-year management programme.
No special costs except semester registration fee and syllabus literature.

Fall Semester

  • OR214S Organisational Psychology and Human Resource Management: Individual written school exam (6 hours)
  • OR280S Comunication: Individual home exam (29 hours)

Spring Semester

  • RE105S Labour Legislation: Individual written school exam (6 hours)
  • OR213S Competence Development : An individual home exam (one week)
The study programme is evaluated annually by students using course evaluation studies and by the programme director. The evaluations are included in the University's quality assurance system
