I have a M.Sc. degree in Zoology, with specialization in fish physiology and
environmental chemistry from the Norwegian University for Science and
Technology (NTNU) and a Ph.D. degree on water quality and physiology in
intensive aquaculture systems from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). During
most of my career prior to starting at Nord (FBA) in 2014, I worked as
a scientist at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA). I have been working with the effects of metals, pesticides, gases and metabolites
on fish physiology, health and welfare since 2001. My work in this field has
focussed on both intensive aquaculture and wild fish populations, and
methodology ranges from physiological and ecological studies to genomics-based approaches.
My teaching includes topics at Bachelor, Master and
PhD level within fish physiology, water -and environmental chemistry and
aquaculture technology. I am also a lecturer at the life long learning
programme, Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture.
