Compositing 2

VFX2061

In this course, students will learn how to work with the most important features within a node based compositing workflow.

By the end of the course. Students will have an understanding of clean green screen. How to remove wire/ unwanted elements from foreground elements. They (students) will be able to separate backgrounds from live action plates to use as clean backgrounds.

When the students have finished the course they can:

Skills:

  • Manipulate content using rotoscoping and luma/chroma keys.
  • Use tracking data to help with footage cleanup.
  • Separate foreground elements from backplate.
  • Background replacement

Knowledge:

  • Understand what a green screen is
  • Understand different keying practices
  • Understanding of HDRI images
  • Basics of color management workflows

General Competence:

  • Color theory
  • Data management (frame dimensions, aspect ratio, file size)
No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.
Lectures, Lab work on assignments.
Student evaluation is conducted on course and subject level.
