Giuseppe Marinelli
Since September 2018 I am entitled as Associate Professor in " Technology & Mobility" at NORD University, at the Traffic Section located in Stjørdal, Norway.
Passionate about innovative technologies applied to the transportation sector, my research focuses on the effects of new technologies in driving behavior & performances, traffic safety and road transport management.
My background:
- Postdoctoral fellow @ NTNU for the " Coastal Highway Route E39" project.
- Visiting Researcher @ University of Maryland in College Park,US.
- PhD in Land & Environmental Engineering with thesis "Road geometry identification with mobile mapping techniques".
- Master's Degree as Civil Engineer, specialized in " Infrastructures & Transport Systems" from Politecnico di Torino
Currently responsible for the following courses:
This course is part of the 2 years education as Driving Instructors in Stjørdal. The objective of the course knowledge and perspectives on key aspects related to the physical forces acting on a vehicle in motion, as well as its fundamental constructive components. This course allows to learn about how driving, maneuvering, accelerating and braking properties of cars are affected by conditions such as grip, speed and load. Additionally, students will be more conscious of the technology onboard the vehicle and how these components act together in that complex environment that is the terrain vehicle.
My research interests cover the following areas:
- Simulative environment for the analysys of driving behaviour and performances
- Innovative Technologies in the Road Infrastructure and in Vehicles
- ADAS systems and Self-Driving Vehicles
- Electrific Mobility
- Innovative Mobility solutions
- Vehicle Dynamics
