Arctic Congress Bodø 2024
The event brings together a wide range of participants to discuss the Arctic's future, with a focus on sustainable development, cooperation and innovation.

This unique event combines the International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS) XI, the UArctic Congress 2024, and the High North Dialogue 2024.

The event takes place in Bodø - the first 'European capital of culture' north of the Arctic Circle, and will be a unique display of cooperation in the Arctic. Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 brings together professionals, decision-makers, businesses, indigenous peoples and students from various fields to exchange knowledge, present innovative ideas and discuss current issues. Nordlandsforskning and Nord University are hosting the conference.

The congress will include high-profile plenary sessions, parallel sessions, networking activities as well as social and cultural events. With an expected number of participants of 1,000 to 1,500 international guests, the congress offers an exciting opportunity to exchange knowledge and to meet and make contacts.

Main themes for the 2024 conference include:

  • People of the North
  • Sustainable economic developments
  • Climate and environment
  • Oceans

The congress aims to create a platform for dialogue about the Arctic's sustainable future and includes, among other things, an Ambassador panel with representatives from the Arctic states. The purpose is to strengthen cooperation and dialogue. The congress will also highlight opportunities and challenges for business and social development in the Arctic.
