Institutional repository Nord Open Research Archive

Nord Open Research Archive is Nord University’s open, digital research archive. Here you can find master’s theses, PhD theses and full-text versions of other scholarly publications. In the fall 2024, Nord Open Research Archive will be replaced by Norwegian national science archive (Nasjonalt vitenarkiv, NVA).

Nord Open Research Archive comprises master’s theses, PhD theses, scholarly articles, chapters in edited volumes, books, etc. The institutional repository makes it easy to meet requirements for Open Access to research results.

Nord University’s Open Access policy (PDF) states that all scholarly journal articles in which the university is credited, must be self-archived in Nord Open Research Archive. The policy also recommends that master’s theses scientific book chapters / books are made available in the repository. Furthermore, everyone graduating with a PhD from Nord university is required to make their theses openly available in the institutional repository (see the university’s PhD regulations § 17-3, in Norwegian only).

Publications must be registered and uploaded in Cristin for transfer to Nord Open Research Archive (self-archiving).

Publications in research archives get increased visibility through indexing in databases, search engines (e.g. Google Scholar) and the library’s search tool Oria.

Nord Open Research Archive is part of the Brage consortium together with other Norwegian universities, university colleges, research institutes and other state-funded institutions.
