Check what you need to do before going on an exchange
  • As a Nord University student there are a number of grants that you can apply for. These include Erasmus+, north2north and Nordplus.

    Lånekassen is a government agency that allocates student scholarships and loans to Norwegian students. In some cases, international students may qualify for this. You can find more information about this and how to apply at Lånekassen.

    • Update your new address and contact information in StudentWeb as soon as you have been assigned student housing at your host institution.
    • All exchange students are exempt from paying the semester fee.
    • You have to confirm your study plan in StudentWeb (semester registration).

  • Some institutions have specific language requirements. Check with your host institution or with the International Office.

    • Familiarize yourself with the visa procedures of the country you are visiting. Many countries outside of Europe requires a student visa if your stay exceeds 90 days.
    • We recommend that you the visa application process early in order to get the relevant documents needed in time of departure. However, it is important to note that you cannot start applying for a visa before you have recieved a letter of admission from your host institution.
    • The relevant embassies may help with detailed information about the application process.
  • We recommend all students that are going on an exhange to get health and travel insurance.
