Programme description

An MBA in Technology Management provides you with knowledge and analytical skills suitable for management positions in technology companies as well as other knowledge organisations. Thorugh three sessions each semester you will meet engaged faculty and fellow students, and together you will approach technology management from strategic, organisational, marketing and technological perspectives. The teaching language is Norwegian.

Career opportunities

Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates qualify for a wide range of jobs in the public and private sectors, including management positions, technological development work, and chance processes consultin.
This program is taught exclusively in Norwegian. Applicants must meet the Norwegian language requirements in addition to the admission requirements described on the Norwegian program pages.
The time that is best suited for a stay abroad is the 2nd semester or the 3rd semester. Students can use several of the university's agreements with international institutions. Both the Ecole de Management de Normandie (France, England and Ireland) and Western Sidney University (Australia) are examples of partner institutions that offer relevant MBA courses in technology management.
The MBA programme does not normally qualify students directly for admission to the doctoral programme (PhD) at Nord University Business School. Further studies in this field will usually be required in order for candidates to be considered for admission to the PhD programme.

Upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate shall possess the following

Knowledge

The candidate :

  • has advanced knowledge of the different aspects of technology management
  • has thorough knowledge of scientific research theories and methods in technology management
  • is able to apply knowledge onto new areas of technology management
  • is able to analyze and assess issues related to businesses' environments such as sustainability, change and internationalisation

Skills

The candidate:

  • is able to analyze existing theories, methods and interpretations within technology management and work independently with practical and theoretical problem solving
  • can understand, critically evaluate and be able to use relevant methods in an independent way
  • masters relevant professional tools and techniques
  • can carry out an independent research project (master's thesis) under supervision

General competence

The candidate:

  • can apply his or her knowledge and skills onto new areas in order to conduct advanced tasks and projects in both new and more established tech companies
  • can communicate about professional issues, analyses and conclusions in technology management, both with specialists, companies and the public in general.
  • can analyze relevant topics and communicate this both in writing and in discussions
  • can contribute to innovation and increased sustainability in the society
