Knowledge
- has basic understanding of Human Resource Management in modern public and private businesses
- has broad knowledge of important topics, theories, issues, processes, tools and methods within the field of Human Resource Management. Main areas of knowledge are organization and leadership, organisational psychology, labour legislation, communication, knowledge management, strategy and marketing, business economics and competitiveness and work environment / HSE
- is familiar with research and development work in the field of Human Resource Management, also specifically related to the main areas of knowledge
- has knowledge of the history, traditions, distinctive character, and place in society of the academic field of Human Resource Management. Broad knowledge of the Norwegian work life model is a main focus area; its rise, characteristics and development
Skills
- can apply academic knowledge and relevant results of research and development work to practical and theoretical problems related to Human Resource Management, and make well-founded choices
- can make use of this knowledge in practical business-related work
General competence
- meets the knowledge requirements within the field of Human Resource Management in public and private sector
- meets entrance qualifications for Higher Education within the field
- has insight into relevant academic and professional ethical issues related to Human Resource Management so that he/she meets the needed qualifications to lead people at work
is familiar with how the requirements for work both in public and private sectors changes and is influenced, both nationally and internationally
Applicants must fulfil the requirements for Norwegian General Study competence as well as language proficiency requirements in Norwegian and English language.
The program facilitates exchanges in the 5th semester (fall semester) in 3rd year of study. Nord University has several current partner institutions that can offer compatible topics and which could be incorporated in the 5th semester curriculum. The following partners are recommended for exchange:

Europe: Wageningen University (Nederland)
Australia: Deakin University

In order to go on exchange students need to have completed a minimum of 60 ECTS of the bachelor degree.
