In this education program, student work with relevant teaching methods and way of working in order to solve spesific issues, casework and various projects. To experience student-to-student relations (peer relations), guidance, supervision, taking part in response groups, seminars and other activities that require active student participation are important and content elements.

Participation in R&D activities is an important part of the education program in order to develop systematic-, reflective- and exploratory-oriented Driving Instructors. The R&D orientation shall contribute to form didactic competences and as a foundation process in developing a good learning environment for driving license candidates.

Some part of the education are compulsory requiring students to be present and participate in a specified number of lessons. Practical training takes place in the Nord University Driving School and comprises 70 - 80 weeks of supervised practice evenly distributed over the two study-years. The training period also includes a mandatory stay at a relevant institution or a Driving School in the fourth semester.

Organized supervised practice forms an intergrated part of the education connecting professional and discipline subjects to practical teaching. Supervised practice shall contribute to the development of the students' professional and didactic specialized competence in collaboration with the university's academic staff. The students professional and didactic qualifications and reflective abilities develops progressively from one period to the next.
