Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Innovation and entrepreneurship are becoming increasingly important for sustainable value creation and welfare. Nord University aims to become a stronger driving force for innovation and entrepreneurship by enhancing research and development collaboration with society and businesses in the region.

Nord University aims to equip its students with the competence to develop and implement forward-thinking solutions in the workplace through new and digital learning methods, while also fostering innovation skills.

Nord University boasts one of the country's leading research and education environments in innovation and entrepreneurship, with a strong international position. This area will be strengthened and further developed to encompass larger parts of the university's activities.

By developing new learning methods that emphasize engaging and interactive educational programs, graduates from Nord University will have the knowledge and skills to develop future-oriented solutions. In the context of sustainability, where all resources are limited, knowledge about resource management will be fundamental to the university's profile area.

Goals

Sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship contribute to creating good and secure societies for future generations. Innovation is important in all fields of study to build a sustainable future. The region relies on Nord University to contribute to more sustainable products, industries, and local communities (in terms of living, working, and visiting).

Nord University has a social responsibility for a holistic approach and to increase knowledge that facilitates (sustainable) changes in practices and guides future development. This will help support the Norwegian welfare state.

Additionally, the Arctic regions require sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship to compete with other regions. Nord University plays a crucial role in contributing to research and innovation in the districts within its scope.
