  • The main purpose of the centre is to coordinate, make visible and strengthen education and research on Saami and indigenous issues at Nord University and Nordland Research Institute.

This includes close collaboration with the Saami community and its' institutions and language and cultural centres, as well as other, external communities of expertise.

In addition, the centre will cooperate with regional, national and international partners. An important goal is to follow up and specify the institutional agreement between Sámi University of Applied Science and Nord University, which was signed in October 2021.

    • The university offers studies in Southern Saami and Lule Saami languages. See the Norwegian website for an overview. (In Norwegian).
