– "Lack of qualified teachers is a major global challenge. We are now putting the spotlight on measures and initiatives that have worked in various countries and hope to reverse the trend in that way. This is a hot topic.” says Langejan.
Measures and initiatives that work
The conference aims at answering the following questions:
- What initiatives and measures taken have resulted in more qualified teachers?
- What strategies have resulted in that more young people have chosen to become a teacher?
Nord University Rector Hanne Solheim Hansen looks forward to the issue being raised at the conference. Nord University systematically works for recruiting students to the teacher training programmes through the LæreriNord-initiative, which aims at increasing the recruitment to and reputation of the teacher profession in the counties of Nordland and Trøndelag.
